Cecelia Tripp

Cecelia Tripp became the Head Coach of the YMCA of the North Shore in September 2014.  Cecelia will work with the Senior and Junior Groups at Beverly but will oversee the development of all 6 locations of the YNS Sharks.  She spent the previous 3 years at Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta, Georgia.  Dynamo is a Gold Medal Club with two locations and over 850 swimmers and has won four USA Junior National Team Titles in the last 6 seasons.   In her time at Dynamo, Cecelia coached elite senior level athletes as well as various levels within their age group program.  In her first year, she helped the Senior 1 group to qualify 12 swimmers for 2012 Olympic trials, including a finalist in two events.   In the last 3 years, Cecelia has coached multiple National and Junior National finalists, numerous Georgia Age Group, and Senior State Champions and USA top 10 performances.

Prior to her time with Dynamo, Cecelia was the Head Age Group Coach and Assistant National Team Coach at YMCA of the North Shore.  During her four years, the team experienced some of the most successful years in team history.  With each year, the team steadily progressed within the YMCA National standings, culminating in at 4th place finish at 2011 LCM national Championships.  That season also concluded with multiple Junior National Qualifiers and a 2012 Olympic Trial qualifier.

Cecelia began coaching at the collegiate level as a graduate assistant at St. Lawrence University is a 2005 graduate of Hamilton College.  

Heather A Mills-Robles

Heather joins YNS with a long and accomplished swimming background. Heather coached at Thayer Academy and the South Shore YMCA for 4 years before joining YNS in 2012. At SSY, she was the lead coach for multiple record holders, YMCA National qualifiers, and YMCA National top 10 swimmers. Currently, Heather serves as a coach at the LVO branch of the Y of the North Shore where she works with the Junior, Senior and National athletes.

In 2005, Heather received her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Connecticut. In 2008, Heather achieved her Masters of Science degree from Northeastern University in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Exercise Psychology. Heather is an ASCA Level 4 Coach and is working toward her Level 5 Certification. Heather is also a registered Para-Swim Coach and occasionally travels with the US National Paralympic Team. Outside of swimming, Heather is a certified Master Gardener with the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, a clarinetist, and USMS swimmer specializing in the IM and Breaststroke diciplines.

Susan Shea Guertin

Susan is in her 32nd year as head coach of the Marblehead Group. She is also in her 20th year as the Head Coach of the Marblehead High School swim team. Susan has an impressive record with both the high school and YMCA team's. Her high school team was runner-up at the 1998 girls N. Sectional championships, placed third at the State Championships that year. Marblehead has won ten consecutive Northeast Conference Meet titles. Susan is in her 40th  year teaching at the YMCA and has won two Eastern Mass YMCA District Division II titles and an overall girl’s team championship in 1992. In 1990, the Marblehead 9 & 10 Girls won the YMCA New England Championship. In 1995, Susan had a group of nine swimmers qualify for the LC National Championships (her first qualifiers). She has had two swimmers qualify for the SC Nationals and 21 for the LC Nationals as well as three All-American. Susan graduated from Salem State College in 1993 with a degree in Aquatic Management. She is a Level 3 ASCA recognized coach. Susan holds a top 10 time as a swimmer in the 100 Back and 1650 Free for NE Master's Swimming. She also set the record, for her age group, in the 200m Backstroke at the Bay State Summer Games in 2006 and came in second in 2007.

Tim James Corcoran

Tim is entering his senior year at Salem State College as a Biology Major. He has coached and been a swim instructor at the Beverly YMCA, the Andover Y and the Manchester Bath and Tennis Club. He formerly competed in track and baseball at both the high school and collegiate levels. Tim hopes that experience and knowledge of nutrition and strength training will benefit the YNS Sharks swim team.

Alessandro Eramo

Alessandro has been coaching with YNS since 2011, working with all age group level swimmers. Before coaching, Alessandro swam for the Sharks from 2003-2013. Alessandro currently attends Merrimack College as a Human Development major.

Amanda Skinner

Amanda Skinner is a recent college graduate from the south graduating in 2013 with a degree in Studio Art with minors in Art History and Psychology.  She is fresh out of the pool where she competed as a four year student-athlete on Transylvania University’s Swimming and Dive team, a division 3 team in Lexington, Kentucky.  There she had a very successful swimming career.  She was awarded All-Conference winner at the Ohio Athletic Conference in 2013 and Bluegrass Mountain Conference in 2012 for the 200 breaststroke and 400 IM as well as grabbing the meet record at OAC in the 400 IM in 2013.  Amanda is a nine-time record holder at Transylvania University in the 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 200 and 400 IM with five relay records which she still holds a handful of these.  Her junior year she named team captain and her senior year she was awarded Transylvania University’s Athlete of the year.

Post college she has traveled to the New England area to pursue her interests in Architecture and Museum work at the Peabody Essex Museum.  However, not being able to stay away from the pool, she decided to join the YNS program in Salem.  She hopes to bring her experience as an athlete and her years of knowledge in the sport onboard the YNS coaching staff.

David M Swensen

David has a long history of success in the pool, where he started swimming for a YMCA program. He swam for the University of Massachusetts , Amherst (Division I team) for four years and was an assistant coach for the Minutemen from 1983-1984. David continues his swimming career as a Master's swimmer for the YMCA of the North Shore . David was an assistant coach for the Palm Springs Piranhas (1984-85) and Fullerton High School (1989-1990). He has also coached with the Brea Master's and Whittier Master's programs (in California ) from 1986-1990. David received his B.S. in Exercise Science, a Masters of Applied Science in Musckuloskeletal Management, and is a Doctor of Chiropractic. He is a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists , and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. David, along with his wife Deanna, own and operate the Melrose Family Chiropractic & Sports Injury Center . David is an ASCA Level 2 Coach.

Carly has been coaching with YNS at the Ipswich site since 2011 and has recently moved to coach at the Beverly site.  Prior to coaching with the Sharks, I coached with clubs in North Carolina and Minnesota.  I am very passionate about swimming and love working to help young people become better athletes.  I have been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old.  My swimming career culminated at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and now I continue to swim with the Sharks' Masters group.

Beth has years of experience teaching swimming and is currently the Aquatics Director at the Manchester Athletic Club. Her athletic experience includes running marathons. Beth is a graduate of Roanoke College with a degree in Business. Beth is married and the mother of three boys. Beth is an ASCA Level 2 Coach.

Julie has been a swim instructor since 1984 as well as coaching for YNS. Julie graduated from Endicott College with an Associates Degree in Art in 1976. She has been an Aquatics Director of the Beverly YMCA. Julie currently works at the Danvers Bank. Her daughter, Robyn, swam for the YNS Sharks and now is a member of the Keene State Swimming Team. Julie is ASCA Level 3 Coach.

Jennifer joined the YNS staff in 2008 as director of dryland training for the Junior and Senior groups and coaches the Junior 2 and Maroon 1 Group. She has been involved in swimming for more than 30 years. As a college athlete, she was conference champion and record holder for the Kenyon College swim team, with 53 national swim titles the most successful college athletic program in NCAA history. As a master swimmer, she is a national champion, USMS All American and world record relay titleholder. Her step-daughter Danielle Seltzer was a 2009 NCAA All American swimmer and her son Charlie is a rising YNS age group swimmer. Jennifer is an ASCA Level 2 certified coach.

Sean is a recent 2010 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Small Business Management.  He has been a swim instructor at the Lynch/VanOtterloo Y since it opened in January, 2008 as well as Essex Country Club.  Sean is a coach at Essex and hopes to bring the skills he learned there to the swimmers in the YNS program.
